ラスベガスにて毎年2月に開催されている「D.I.C.E.サミット」。今年も開催が近づく中、同サミットにて受賞作が発表される「D.I.C.E.アワーズ」のノミネート作品リストが公開されました。
D.I.C.E.サミットは、ゲーム開発者たちの推薦により正式会員になれるAIASことAcademy of Interactive Arts & Sciencesが毎年開催。米国の巨大ケーブル番組Spike TVのVGXや、世界中のゲーム開発者たちが無数に集うGDCとは異なり、ゲーム業界の重鎮と呼ばれる人物たちが複数日にわたり質の高い公演を披露していきます。D.I.C.E.は「Design、Innovate、Communicate、Entertain（デザインする、革新する、交信する、楽しませる）」の略称です。
そんな重鎮たちが選ぶ2014年の「第17回D.I.C.E.アワーズ」は、Game of the Year部門に『Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag』、『BioShock Infinite』、『Grand Theft Auto V』、『The Last of Us』、『ゼルダの伝説 神々のトライフォース2』がノミネート。特にNaughty Dogが昨年放った『The Last of Us』は13部門にリストされており、昨年GoTY含む9部門を制覇した『風ノ旅ビト』のようにどこまで突き進むことができるのか、受賞作のアナウンスが待ち遠しいところとなっています。
なお国内からは『ゼルダの伝説 神々のトライフォース2』がGoTY含む3部門にノミネート。ほかにも『スーパーマリオ3Dワールド』や『ポケモンX/Y』が登場しています。フルリストは以下の通り。
